Diffusing, Plopping and Hooded Dryers

Diffusing and plopping are ESSENTIAL parts of my curly hair routine. Please go check out my other post on my complete curly hair routine.

Plopping:

Plopping is a way for me to got maximum curl definition and squeeze out some of the extra product and water. This method became much more effective when I paired it with a hooded dryer.

Here is the video that taught me how to plop from my favorite YouTuber CurlyPenny

Diffusing:

I used to struggle with diffusing because it used to make my ends straight and my hair would fall flat my the end of the day. Now that I have combined it with my overhead drying it has become a great tool to separate my curls and add volume to my hair.

How -

Take a one inch section from one side of the head and work your way to the other side of the head and then arrange curls where you want them and then continue to diffuse into satisfied.

This is the diffuser and blow dryer that I have and it works better but I would probably recommend the DevaFuser

Hooded Dryers:

I. Love. My. Hooded. Dryer. This is the biggest game changer that I have experienced throughout my hair journey. I use this to speed up the drying process and reduce frizz drastically.

This is the hooded dryer that I have and it is awesome because it is collapsible so I can store it under my desk for the majority of the week

How -

I sit under the dryer in total for about 20 minutes. I sit under it while "plopped" for about 15 minutes and then "un-plop" for 5-10 minutes while still under the dryer.
